I know that James may seem a Little young to be potty training (17 months old). But he has made it clear that he is ready. For example the other day I was changing his diaper, as soon as the diaper came off he started say "Pee Pee" over and over again. The next thing I new Pee was flying all over the place. This drew the line for me since he has been doing similar things for the last two months. Yesterday James and I went to Walmart and picked out training pants, an Elmo potty book and an Elmo potty movie. This morning was our first attempt. I put him on the potty and told him to go "Pee Pee", and after about 3 minutes of pure concentration, and some flexing of his stomach muscles he signed "All-done." I assumed that he hadn't gone because it was his first try, but sure enough when I took him of the toilet their was "Pee Pee" in there. Not wanting to overwhelm him or push him to hard to go to the bathroom I waited two hours before the next attempt. Sure enough attempt #2 was also a success. I am so proud of him. He didn't stay dry between bathroom brakes but I think for day one he as done extremely well. Wish us luck in this new milestone, we are hoping to have him completely potty trained in 6 months (age 2).
I know that it has been I while since my last post; but I promise that this New Year will be better... I am not going to attempt to play catch-up because there is way too much that I would have to post (sorry) however I will start with what we did this weekend.
Saturdays are our family days... (This is my favorite Day!) This Saturday we woke up and made breakfast together... We had breakfast burritos and pancakes. This was the first time that we all participated in the preparation. Daddy and James made the pancakes; and I did the rest. It was so fun to watch Ryan help James crack the egg, stir, poor and flip the pancakes. They both had a blast. (Ryan is such a good Daddy).
Ryan worked a few hours at Grandpa & Grandma Lang’s house and afterward we went to Zuma beach for about an hour. It was kind of cold, but we still had fun putting our feet in the water, chasing the seagulls, and building a sand castle. I love my little family and I am so excited that we get to add little Emily into the mix in a few months. Life couldn't be better for us!!! Ryan and I are so blessed.
About a week ago some friends of Ryan and mine offered us some free passes to Disney Land and California Adventure; so of course we couldn't say no. So the next day we went with a the friends that provided the passes and our nephew (little Ryan).
We had such a good time... James loved the rides that we went on, he loved the food, he loved all the people, colors, music, and especially the parade at California Adventure. Taking him just made us even more excited for when he gets older because it will only get more fun for him...
I am 21 weeks pregnant now which you can tell by my clicker off to the right; I had my ultrasound yesterday and found out that we are going to have a daughter... That's right, we are having a little girl; and we are very excited. I think James is excited too because for some reason he woke up at 11:00pm last night and wanting to play. Normally I wouldn't let him stay up and play but he was being so cute I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy his adorable behavior. I took these pictures of him being his silly self. And her are some pictures of my rapidly expanding belly.
On Monday night we made pumpkin cookies and decorated the Christmas tree (Oh and James decorated his body with a marker) It is always so much fun to look at all the ornaments from past years. We had a lot of fun showing James the different ornaments and letting him put some on the tree.
I gave James a hair cut today... This would be hair cut #3 for him (His hair grows fast). I tried to give it a little style, but becuase he is so wiggly I just ended up buzzing it all off. Now he looks all grown up just like his daddy.
Thanksgiving came and went so fast this year! We had a really good day... We had dinner at Ryan's Uncles house. There was lots of food, people and conversation. I always love getting together with his family (They are a lot of fun). This year my sister and her son were able to join us, it was good to spend a Holiday with her after 6 years.
Love you all and we wish you a wonderful holiday season!
